You guys… YOU GUYS!!!! Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is releasing in TWO DAYS for those of us that preordered it! Oh… my… gosh. The amount of excitement that I have over this is incredible. I’ve only been in this game for a little over a month now and I have never become so invested in a game as quickly as I did with FFXIV. Not only are the story and gameplay elements of the game incredible, the community is, by far, the best MMO community I have ever been in. Everyone is so welcoming, helpful, and friendly. I have also started watching tons of amazing Final Fantasy XIV streamers (and by the way, you should totally check them out).
To celebrate my love for this game, its community, and the release of its first expansion pack, Heavensward, on Friday, I am making Final Fantasy XIV recipes all week long. The second recipe for this week (you can find the first, Parsnip Salad, here) is spinach quiche.
The in-game spinach quiche is “a savory pastry made by baking a mixture of sauteed spinach and cream cheese within pie dough” is made with one fire cluster, one water cluster, one bunch of cieldalaes spinach, one apkallu egg, one pie dough, one nutmeg, one cream cheese, and one dash of table salt. My version of the spinach quiche follows the recipe pretty closely (though I seem to be a bit short of fire and water clusters :P) with the exception that I added a bit of shredded colby jack cheese to the top, and onion powder into the egg mixture. This will make a filling breakfast or dinner and should yield about eight servings. You can use either frozen pie crust or homemade, depending on your preference. I used a frozen pie crust as I have never been very good at making my own pie crust.
I am hoping to post the final FFXIV recipe on Friday, the day that Heavensward will release for pre-orders. Stay tuned for that!
